Forget about the usual overused catch phrases you all continue to regurgitate, there is no urge for accountability or transparency, those who know and understand the purpose of the conference do not care.
It is a Conference to attract potential investors not a game of black jack or "bot kidi". How many people do you suggest the government take, two, three? You obviously have not hosted a conference before, have you even been to one? All this infatuation and mischievous obsession with how many people attended and how much was spent. How much was spent is referred to as the "Cost Of Sale" in the business world. Get it?
You live in New York, at the end of January watch out, CBS would host the "super bowl", Cocoa Cola, Godaddy.com and Budweiser to name a few companies are going to shell out 1 million dollars or more for a 30 second advertisement. Why? It is for that same reason it was necessary for the government to undertake this cost in an attempt to attract the money people, no guarantees. The suggestion that some unrealistic expectation needs to be fulfilled or to quote you;
"the costs and expenses involved for attending the conference in London, would tantamount to gross misappropriation." is laughable, actually no, it is sad.
What has been your contribution so far to eradicating poverty from Sierra Leone's six million people?
If the Government had invited all the investors who attended and they had come to Sierra Leone, has it crossed you and anybody else's minds that the government would have had to foot the bill for their stay in Sierra Leone? Oh sorry, you indicated the guests would have had to pay for the trip and expenses. Some host you are. Do you invite people to your home and tell them to bring their own food and drinks?
Some people the only qualification they have for criticizing is the fact that they have travelled abroad. Nothing else.
